Payroll Manager at AniCura Sweden

Do you want to create security, quality, and long-term development in a payroll function with a real societal mission?

At AniCura, the payroll function plays a crucial role. When our veterinarians, veterinary nurses, and clinic staff can trust that salaries, compensations, and conditions work seamlessly, the conditions are created for what truly matters – providing the best possible care to our patients. We are now looking for someone who wants to take overall responsibility for this important function while leading and developing our dedicated payroll team in Sweden.

About AniCura

AniCura is one of Europe's leading players in specialized veterinary care for companion animals. Since our inception in 2011, we have grown into a family of over 500 animal hospitals and clinics across Europe, with a common goal: to create better veterinary care together. Today, we are part of Mars Veterinary Health, and in Sweden, we have 27 clinics and animal hospitals with approximately 1,350 employees. Our total of 12,000 colleagues in Europe care for around 4.5 million patients each year.

About the role

As Payroll Manager at AniCura Sweden, you will have overall responsibility for the entire payroll process for about 1300 employees across five companies. This means you will ensure that everything functions correctly and according to regulations – while also driving development forward. You will lead a competent team of four people and create structure, security, and progress in an environment characterized by growth and change. The role is both strategic and operational. You will act as an internal expert in payroll and be an important partner to HR, finance, managers, and external suppliers. You will contribute to standardizing, streamlining, and future-proofing our payroll processes so that they best support the business – both today and tomorrow.

Your mission

In practice, this means you have full responsibility for payroll management from input to payment, reporting, and compliance with laws and agreements. You are the obvious escalation point for payroll-related issues and provide advisory support to both HR and operations. You drive improvement initiatives, ensure quality in internal controls and audits, and are responsible for administrative aspects related to, for example, company cars. All with a clear focus on structure, transparency, and trust.

Who we believe you are

We are looking for someone who is confident in their skills and enjoys a role where they can take responsibility, create direction, and build strong relationships. You are driven, structured, and solution-oriented, but also humble and communicative. You see change as an opportunity rather than a hindrance, and you are motivated by developing people and improving work methods.

You have several years of experience in qualified payroll management, preferably from outsourcing companies or larger international organizations, and a solid understanding of Swedish payroll regulations, labor law, and taxes. You are accustomed to working in various HR and payroll systems and collaborating with external suppliers. Since AniCura is an international group, you are also comfortable with English in both spoken and written form. Experience with Hogia Plus, Quinyx, or Workday is a plus.

What we offer

At AniCura, you will be part of a values-driven company with a clear and meaningful mission. You will have the opportunity to shape and further develop a modern payroll function in a growing company, in a role with significant responsibility and real impact. We offer an inclusive and collaborative work environment, hybrid work with flexibility, occupational pension, and wellness benefits – and of course, your dog is also welcome at the office 🐾

The position is full-time based at our office in Danderyd, with a start date according to agreement.

Application

In this recruitment, AniCura is collaborating with Wepartner and Barbara Lidholt. You are warmly welcome to submit your application and CV. Selection and interviews will be conducted on an ongoing basis. At the end of the process, you will take a payroll test. If you have questions about the role, feel free to contact Barbara Lidholt at [email protected] (mailto:[email protected]) or 076-525 90 47.

We look forward to hearing from you. 🌿
